Bear viewing across the Cook Inlet to Wolverine Creek, Big River Lakes.

Bear Viewing is just as synonymous with Alaska as Fishing is. These photos were taken at Wolverine Creek. The only way to get there is to take a scenic 30 minute flight over Cook Inlet. Via float equipped aircraft like the Dehavalland Beaver and Otters used by the local Air Charter services in Kenai and Soldotna.

Landing on Big River Lakes and hopping in a boat you will be very close to these fishing bears. Wolverine Creek boasts both black and brown bears cohabitating and trying to share the numerous sockeye salmon. This is also a wonderful spot to fish. The pristine Alaska mountain range juts up directly behind the lake. This is truly an Alaskan experience. Ask us for more details.

Things to look for while flying to Big River Lakes: You may see the majestic Alaska Range, which includes Mt. Redoubt, Mt. Spur and Mt. Iliamna. All of which are active volcanoes. On clear days you may even see Mt  Denali and Mt. Foraker.  Once you reach the flats look for bears in the tall grass, and just before you land you may see moose.  These are great sights from the air.

You may also see seals sunning themselves at low tide.
